Three local residents were recently honored for their lengthy service protecting the community. As members of the Carlisle Fire Company, Preston “Pret” Dyer, James Abbott, and James “Pop” Bailey have collectively served Milford-area residents for more than 16 decades. Mr. Dyer is a 50-year member, Mr. Abbott has 55 years of service, and Mr. Bailey has the longest tenure of the three having joined the fire company in 1952 – 60 years ago. On March 17th, the men received accolades during festivities at the Carlisle Fire Company hall, including the presentation of a House of Representatives’ Tribute to each.
