The Delaware State Police are investigating a carjacking incident that occurred yesterday morning at High Point MHP in Frederica.

According to police, the incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. yesterday morning when a 78 year old male victim was approached by a female at the Chicken Man Market located north of Milford, where the female asked for a ride to High Point MHP and the victim agreed, bringing her to the front of 23 Second Street in the park. Police state that when the 78 year old victim stopped the car, the female suspect attempted to take the keys from the ignition, but the victim was able to the remove the keys as he exited the vehicle in an attempt to get away from the suspect. Police say the female then confronted the driver outside the truck and began punching him and throwing the victim to the ground where she was able to remove the keys from his pocket and flee in his green 1994 Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck with Delaware registration C85666. The victim was treated at the scene by EMS for minor injuries and released. Police describe the suspect as a black female, 25-30 years old, with an estimate height of 5’06”-5’07” and weight of 130-135 lbs.
