Banneker Elementary announced the new members of the National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS) last week. Banneker was granted an official charter of the National Elementary Honor Society last month, so this is the second group of students to be inducted into the Banneker Chapter of NEHS. Thirty-six students were inducted into this prestigious organization on February 28, 2013. These fourth and fifth grade students met stringent standards in scholarship and responsibility, and have demonstrated a desire to learn and develop service and leadership skills.

Grade 4 students include, Allison Benton, Joshua Cortez, Cole Garlick, Kirk Hammer, Hayden Hufford, Conor Kilgore, Alex Mergner, Emma Moorman, Aaliyah Neal, Christian Read, James Stangl, Matthew Stangl, Micah Stevens, Sarah Stevenson, Autumn Thompson, Jose Velasquez-Rivera, Zane Wallace, Alivia Wilbur, Sophia Williams and Dane Wilson.

Grade 5 students included Caroline Carter, Gaij Copes, Jaden Freeman, Haley Ingram,
Ryana Johnson, Trey Lodge, Mya MacFarland, Jenna McDuff, Nicholas Mentzer, Angel Moreno, Micayla Raffaele, Trevor Simpson, Victoria Walters,, Corey Welsh, Clay West and Sara Wilson.
