Troopers are investigating an early morning crash in which five people were injured that occurred in Milford.

The crash occurred at approximately 2:45 a.m. this morning as Michael W. Walker, 29, of Milford, DE, was operating a 1998 Buick Century and was traveling southbound on Canterbury Road (SR 15). As Walker neared the intersection of Milford Harrington Highway (SR 14), he failed to stop for a red light and struck the passenger side of a 2008 Nissan Altima which was being operated by Danny R. Hudson, 45, of Lincoln, DE, and which was traveling eastbound on Milford Harrington Highway.

Michael Walker, who was properly restrained at the time of the crash, was removed from the scene by EMS and transported to the Milford Memorial Hospital where he was treated for his non-life threatening injuries. Walker was cited by troopers for Vehicular Assault 1st degree, three counts of Vehicular Assault 2nd degree, Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, and Failure to stop at a Red Light. Arraignment information for Michael Walker was not available at the time of this release. A mug shot photograph of Michael Walker is not available at this time.

Danny Hudson, who was properly restrained at the time of the crash, was also removed from the scene by EMS and transported to the Milford Memorial Hospital where he is being treated for his non-life threatening injuries. A 34 year old Greenwood, DE man, who was a passenger in Michael Walker’s vehicle, as well as a 23 year old Millsboro, DE woman, and a 43 year old Lewes, DE woman, who were passengers in Danny Hudson’s vehicle, were also removed from the scene by EMS and transported to the Milford Memorial Hospital where they were treated for their injuries. All three passengers were properly restrained at the time of the crash.
