On Saturday, March 14 Downtown Milford Inc. (DMI) will host the 5th Annual Toasting the Town: St. Patrick’s Pub Crawl. A tradition for the Milford community, this year’s Pub Crawl will feature two local businesses and seven local restaurants and pubs as DMI continues their commitment to highlighting downtown Milford. Each business will feature a sampling of a unique drink or food and celebrate the holiday with a twist that reflects their specific business.

The event encourages participants to walk through downtown Milford wearing official Pub Crawl shirts. The t-shirts will have the participating vendors names printed on the back of them as attendees will receive a check mark on the back of the shirt for each vendor they visit. Starting the Toasting the Town event in 2011, DMI has sold out of participant t-shirts every year. This year 350 shirts will be on sale at local businesses including Abbott’s Grill, Arena’s Deli & Bar, Georgia House, Dolce Bakery & Coffee Shop, Park Place Restaurant & Lounge and online at MilfordLIVE.com starting  Saturday, February 28.

“It’s great to see so many people come out wearing the same shirt in support of DMI,” commented event organizer Sara Pletcher. “The Pub Crawl is one of our biggest fundraisers and it helps provide for other events and happenings downtown.”

Participating merchants will have specials for event shirt wearers established in their place of business. These may include discounted drinks and food specials and beer tastings from local breweries. From 5 to 8pm on the night of the Pub Crawl Second Street Players will host Mispillion River Brewing at the Riverfront Theatre on Walnut Street and Fur-Baby Boutique will feature Dogfish Head Craft Brewed Ales at their new location at 204 NE Front Street. Participating restaurants and bars that night include Abbott’s Grill, Arena’s Deli & Bar, Georgia House, Longshots Sports Bar & Billiards, Park Place Restaurant & Lounge and the Milford Tavern.

“This event attracts all generations to visit downtown Milford and see what the town has to offer,” stated Pletcher. “Even if they don’t shop the night of the Crawl, people get a great sense of the community and hopefully will come back and visit again.”

Shirts purchased online with MilfordLIVE.com can be picked up starting February 28 at the Irish Rose Gift Shop in downtown Milford, located at 42 N Walnut Street. The Irish Rose Gift Shop is open Wednesday through Friday 10:00 to 5:00 and Saturday – 10:00 to 4:00. Customers must present their receipt, which will be emailed to each individual when they complete their order. Without a receipt the shirts cannot be given out by Irish Rose staff. For any additional information concerning online orders, customers can contactMilfordLIVE.com at bryan@milfordlive.com. For more information on the event, individuals are encouraged to contact DMI at 302-839-1180 or visit the event Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/events/1532561823662233/.
