Major Marijuana Bust in Milton

More than 70 pounds of marijuana were seized at the scene in Milton.

Delaware State Police Sussex Drug Unit and the Sussex Governor’s Task Force conducted an investigation Monday into marijuana manufacturing off of Round Pole Bridge Road in Milton. During the course of their drug investigation, police located 78 Marijuana plants growing in a wooded plot adjacent to the property owned by Clifford W. David, Sr.

State Police initiated contact with Clifford David, Sr. and his son Clifford W. David, Jr. A search was conducted initially on Clifford Sr.’s Ford F-150 pickup truck. During this search a .22 caliber rifle and ammunition was seized.

Police obtained investigative information linking both men to manufacturing the marijuana plants found adjacent to their property, and then executed a search and seizure warrant at the David’s residence.

During the search of David’s residence and surrounding property, two loaded rifles, additional quantities of marijuana, marijuana seeds, water jugs, fertilizer materials, a scale, marijuana smoking pipes, Endocet and Oxycodone were seized. A total of 78 marijuana plants were seized, amounting to approximately 70 pounds of marijuana.

The State Police Sussex Drug Unit arrested both Clifford W. David Sr. and Clifford W. David Jr. for manufacturing marijuana and related weapons offenses. Clifford David Sr. was remanded to Sussex Correctional Institute in lieu of $34,500 cash bond and Clifford W. David Jr. to Sussex Correctional Institute on $16,500 secured bond.
