Food Bank of Delaware’s Mobile Pantry

The Milford Food Bank of Delaware will be working with hunger-relief program partners to ensure that our community is hunger free during the Thanksgiving holiday. The Food Bank’s Mobile Pantry will be in Milford on Wednesday, November 24 at 1 pm to distribute food to those in need of assistance.  Two hundred boxes of free food will be available to area residents.  Each recipient should be prepared to leave with approximately 50 pounds of food.

Milford Branch Manager Crystal Timmons acknowledges the great commitment that many have made to help the Food Bank of Delaware and its Mobile Pantry this year. “Our community is strong and in the weeks leading up to the food drive there has been many local businesses who decided to give back by stepping up and having food drives to help out,” stated Mrs. Timmons.

The demand for food assistance has increased this year across the Milford area. “There is such a need in our community. Just today I answered 17 phone calls for people in need of food.  People who once donated food are now in the line to receive it,” commented Mrs. Timmons.

Recipients must call the Food Bank of Delaware by November 23 at 2 pm, (302)393-2011, for income eligibility intake.  Those who are eligible are asked to bring a photo ID to the Mobile Pantry. The Food Bank of Delaware is located at 1040 Mattlind Way, Milford, DE 19963.   For more information contact Milford Branch Manager Crystal Timmons at ctimmons@fbd.org or visit http://www.fbd.org/.
