The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Milford and the lower counties of Sussex County.  The warning remains in effect from 7 AM on Sunday, December 26 to 1 PM Monday, December 27.

Snow accumulation is expected to reach 8 to 12 inches.  The greatest intensity is expected to be around noon today through midnight tonight.

The National Weather Service stresses that “travel will become hazardous due to the significant accumulations of snow.” Visibility on roadways is expected to be reduced due to “blowing and drifting snow.” Travel is strongly discouraged.

There will be Northerly winds increasing to 20 to 30 MPH with gusts around 40 MPH expected.
