Sussex Tech Wrestling Coach Endangers Child During DUI

Milford Police Arrested Kurt L. Schneck, 39, of 27 Hidden Meadows Milford, after a
collision involving alcohol at Cedar Beach Road and State Route 1 on 01/30/11 at
approximately 7:50 p.m.

 

Police state that Schneck, a Wrestling Coach and English Teacher at Sussex Technical
High School had stopped and picked up a 16 year old male student and member of
the wrestling team to question him about the number of “C” level grades on his
report card. 
He was headed west bound on Cedar Beach Road, realized that
he had missed the turn onto State Route One.  Schneck attempted to make the turn at
speeds greater than reasonable and collided with a street sign, then vaulted over a
guardrail onto the Berm Supporting the over-pass.  The vehicle then struck a small
tree and came to a rest.  Neither the juvenile, nor Mr. Schneck was injured, however
when police arrived and attempted to take Mr. Schneck into custody, he attempted to
assault an officer.

 

He was arrested and taken to Milford PD for processing and presented to Justice of
the Peace Court Three where he was committed to Sussex Correctional Institute in
default of $4,600 Cash bail and charged with the following:

 

DUI
Resisting Arrest with Force or Violence
Driving with a suspended License
Failure to have insurance
Careless Driving
Endangering the Welfare of a Child while DUI
