The Chamber Awards Dinner is Just a Few Weeks Away

The Chamber of Commerce first ever “10 of the Best” Awards Dinner plans are well under way and the committee is looking forward to an evening full of surprises.

The dinner is being held Thursday April 7th at the Shawnee Country Club.  There will be a cocktail hour from 5:30 to 6:30, then a sit-down dinner of either pork or beef, followed by a presentation from Miss Delaware Kayla Martell.  After Kayla is finished sharing her stories with attendees, “10 of the Best” chamber members will receive their award.

Tickets for the dinner are available now.  The cost for chamber members is $35.00.  The cost is you are not a member of the chamber is $40.00.

There is limited seating, and tickets will not be sold at the door, so make sure to RSVP quickly.

The 10 award winners will be notified at the dinner and all nominees will be recognized.

There will awards given in the following categories:   Presidents Award, Board Member of the Year, Chairperson of the Year, Adult Chamber Volunteer of the Year and Youth Volunteer of the Year.  All winners in these categories were chosen by the Board of Directors.

There will also be an award given to the Chamber Non-Profit of the Year.  Delaware Hospice, The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition and Kent Sussex Industries are all nominees in this category.

The award for Small Business of the Year will go to either Gooden’s Floral Shop, Delmarva Broadcasting Company or King’s Tire & Lube.

Walmart, i.g. Burton & Company, Inc. and Bayhealth Medical Center are up for the Large Business of the Year award.

New Chamber Member nominations include First Class Properties, Blooming Boutique and Milford Live.

The three nominations for Citizen of the Year include Ruth Ann Beideman, Brenda Beissel and Kathy Jackson.

The Non-Profit, Small & Large Business, New Member and Citizen of the Year awards were voted by CCGM members.

Plan on attending this event, as it is a great opportunity to show your support of CCGM Members, have an evening of networking, a wonderful dinner, hear Miss Delaware speak, and have a keepsake photo taken with Kayla Martell.
