Sergeant Weaver Honored as 2010 Trooper of the Year

State Representative Jack Peterman (R-Milford) presents Delaware State Police Sergeant David L. Weaver with a House of Representatives Tribute for being named the 2010 Trooper of the Year.  A 23-year veteran of the law enforcement agency, Sgt. Weaver was chosen from a field of seven nominees for the distinction.  According the State Police, Sgt. Weaver was selected for the award based, in part, on his work in the missing person cases of Lisa Mumford in 2009 and Gary Sanders in 2010.  Sgt. Weaver’s work uncovered that both disappearances were the result of murder.  His efforts not only led to the recovery of both of the victims’ bodies, but also the arrest and arraignment of suspects in each of the separate crimes.
