Two years ago Cedar Creek Landing Campground opened its doors and became one of Delaware’s newest and most modern campgrounds, with amenities that include a large swimming pool, playground, volleyball, game room, camp store, laundry facility and 277 RV sites with free cable and wireless internet service.

When the park reopens on Friday, April 15 for the 2011 summer camping season it will gain even more notoriety by becoming Delaware’s first and only campground to join the Jellystone Park chain.

“We think this is the right move for us,” stated park owner Brent Fannin. “Jellystone Parks are known nationally as being fun family oriented parks and with our close proximity to the beach and all the activities offered in and around our campground, we thought the Jellystone Park Camp model was a perfect fit.”

With gas prices continually rising, it is Brent’s hopes to offer an entertaining campground where local residents can escape but still be nearby. “Most people will be traveling less than 150 miles for vacation this year,” commented Fannin, “so we offer something nearby where families can spend quality time with each other.” Located just south of Milford in Lincoln, Delaware Jellystone Park will offer organized activities every weekend beginning Memorial Day weekend running through Labor Day weekend.

One modern feature that sets Jellystone apart from many State Park Camping grounds is their newly built family cabins which include all amenities including cable television and internet connection. There are nine cabins located at the park in addition to the 277 RV sites.  Each cabin is uniquely built for a particular camper.  Large groups can stay in the family size cabin which holds six. Individuals looking for a little privacy for themselves or family can stay in a cabin built with larger bathrooms and kitchen area.

Even Yogi Bear himself has a cabin where he sleeps alongside the campers. Children staying at the campground will get the chance to read Yogi a bedtime story and tuck him into bed for the night.

“Jellystone Park Campground will be an all-inclusive family destination where the kids can enjoy the activities provided while the parents get a chance to relax,” commented Brent.

Upcoming themed weekend events include Memorial Day Weekend, the official kick off to summer with Yogi and Friends, a Father’s Day superhero contest June 19 and 20, a Mardi Gras weekend June 24 to 26, a family Olympics weekend July 8 to 10, a Christmas in July weekend with a campsite decorating contest on July 22 to 24 and a Death by Chocolate Weekend August 5 to 7.
