Come Celebrate Student Visual and Performing Artists

 The Milford Central Academy Visual and Performing Arts Department will feature 8th grade artwork, choral ensembles, and concert band performance at the Kelly Tyrrell Gill Night of the Arts on Wednesday, May 11, 2011. The art gallery will open at 6 p.m. and concert will follow at 7 p.m at the Milford High School Auditorium.

 The Milford High School Visual and Performing Arts Department will feature 9th – 12th grade performances by the Chamber and Concert Choirs, as well as the Jazz and Concert Band at the Kelly Tyrrell Gill Night of the Arts on Thursday, May 19, 2011. The concert will begin at 7:00. Donations will be accepted and benefit the “Delaware Fund for Miyagi, Japan.” A visual/choral tribute will be shared during the evening’s concert.

DMI Social Mixer

 Downtown Milford Inc. held its first of many Milford Social Mixers.  The events will not only serve as a young professionals networking event but will aim to bring people into the downtown area and downtown establishments to meet new friends and/or business contacts. The first Mixer was held at Abbott’s Grill and had a Kentucky Derby Theme.

Farmer’s market

The 2011 Farmers’ Market season kicked off its season on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 9 a.m. beginning their fourteenth year. The market will run each Saturday until October 29, 2011 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The location of the market is 7 South Walnut Street, next to Bikes Etc., and will include vendors selling fresh vegetables, baked goods, homemade jewelry, arts and flowers. Those wishing to apply to be a vendor should contact Jim Cooper at 302-398-8188 to receive an application with detailed information.
