State Rep. Harvey Kenton was among approximately 200 people who recently gathered in Milford to pay homage to former T/SGT William Giambrone. During World War II, Sgt. Giambrone was a crew member aboard a B-24 Liberator that was shot down during a bombing raid over Romania on July 3, 1944. Of the 10 man crew, Sgt. Giambrone was one of only two to survive. He was captured by the Germans and held as a prisoner of war. During a ceremony sponsored by the Delaware National Guard Retired Officers’ Association at the Carlisle Fire Company Hall on May 6th, Mr. Giambrone was presented with a House of Representatives Tribute and a piece of wreckage from his airplane that was recovered from the crash site a short time ago.
