Abbott’s Grill Offer Exciting New Experiences

Cooking Classes and Open Mic are Big Hits

Abbott’s Grill is one of the fastest growing businesses in Milford. With its great food and engaging atmosphere it is a favorite among locals and becoming “the place to be” for many in the Greater Milford area. The key to their success is not only preparing exquisite meals but offering several exciting experiences for music lovers, food enthusiast and socialites. Named “Best in Milford” in the 2010 edition of Delaware Today’s “Best of Delaware”, Abbott’s Grill has developed into much more than just the average restaurant.

Abbott’s Grill is offering monthly cooking classes for individuals of all expertise. This is an entertaining opportunity for aspiring cooks and food connoisseurs to pick up a new recipe or just receive some helpful tips. The classes will be held for an audience of 10-20 people as they watch an hour-long demonstration, enjoy lunch and receive a printed copy of that day’s recipes to take home.

On Saturday, June 18 the themed cooking class will be Chillin-n-Grillin with Chef Ryan Cunningham to prepare backyard cooks for a tasty and fun summer full of cookouts. This class will be outside on Abbott’s patio and feature tips for grilling, marinades and side dishes for summer picnics and outdoor BBQ’s.

On Saturday, July 16 participants will get the chance to see Chef Kevin Reading, owner of Abbott’s Grill, in action as he demonstrates Cooking With Fresh Fish. Kevin will show participants how to break down a whole fish, what to look for when buying fresh fish and demonstrate a few simple cooking techniques. Each cooking class will begin at 10am on said date and cost $35 per person which includes the cooking demo with the chef, printed recipes and lunch. For music lovers Abbott’s Grill is hosting an Open Mic competition on Wednesday nights with a chance to win a trip to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. Individuals or groups can compete for a $50 gift card to Abbott’s Grill per week. Each weekly winner will compete in September for the grand prize of a tropical vacation for two.

“We are looking for people who can play an instrument, sing and give a great performance,” stated Judge Jay Wilcox. “We have had some talented individuals play and hope to see more in the upcoming weeks.”

Winners will compete in September for the grand prize. A 5 day, 4night stay at the Occidental Hotel & Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic provided by Abbott’s Grill, Eagle 97.7, Occidental Hotels and Apple Vacations. Airfare, meals, drinks and tips are included. Every Wednesday registration is at 7pm with performances starting at 8pm. Participants must be at least 21 years of age to win the grand prize.
