The community of Milford is invited to hear Mindy Bowman and Chris Braddock play at the Mispillion Art League at 5 N Walnut Street in downtown Milford on Thursday, July 21. The event will start at 6:30 p.m. and runs to 8 p.m. There will be no cost for admission and light refreshments will be served.
Flutist Mindy Bowman and guitarist Chris Braddock have played together continuously since 1998 and are at home in a variety of musical styles and settings. Their repertoire included pieces from five centuries of classical music, as well as Celtic, ragtime, jazz selections, and various types of Mediterranean folk music.
Together and separately, Chris and Mindy have played in concerts and community events at many popular Delaware sites, including the Riverfront Arts Center, Andres harvey Studio, Delaware Art Museum, Bellevue State Park. Rehoboth Art League, Grand Opera House and The Music School of Delaware. They are proud to have provided music for the 2002 Governor’s Awards for the Arts Dinner in Dover.
Mindy Bowman holds two Bachelor of Music Degrees from the University of Delaware, where she was a two-time recipient of the Presser Scholarship. She has studied flute with Kazu Tokito of the Philadelphia Orchestra, as well as Carol Brown Beste and Eileen Grycky of the Delaware Symphony. She has been a flute instructor at The Music School of Delaware since 1993.
Chris Braddock holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Delaware and is a past recipient of an Individual Art Fellowship in music composition from the Delaware Division of the Arts. He teaches at The Music School of Delaware, where he is Guitar Department Head, Jazz Ensemble director and coordinator of the school’s Cultural Crossroads Series.
