Delightful Milford Insights

George Carroll displaying his delicious cookies

By Lee Nelson, Downtown Milford Inc. (DMI)

Milford boasts lots of good people. But Chuck Stanko and George Carroll, the owners of Dolce, are taking it a generous step further. A while ago the family of 2-year old Saylor came into Dolce asking to post a flyer for a charity. The good folk at Dolce found out Saylor has ALL (Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia). She has had numerous costly treatments and operations.

Dolce decided to create “Wonka Cookies for Saylor” – I’ve had two and they are fantastic… chocolate cookies loaded with white chocolate chips. For this week, August 10 – 17, all proceeds of the sale of “Wonka Chocolate Cookies” will go to Saylor. Every time you buy a “Wonka Chocolate Cookie,” you will get a ticket which gives you a chance to win a “Dolce Ice Cream Party” for 8 children and 2 adults OR a $40 Dolce gift certificate.

Downtown Milford, INC., (DMI) supports this wonderful deed. The random drawing for the party or gift certificate will be held just before the 8:00 p.m. showing of our last movie for this year on Wednesday, August 17,…the 1981 Gene Wilder ”Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” at the Milford Library Amphitheater. In case of rain, the movie will be in the Library’s downstairs meeting room.

So, please buy lots of “Wonka Chocolate Cookies”, bring your family and friends to the last movie for this year and maybe you will win a great party or gift certificate. But in any case, you will help a very brave little girl. Bravo Dolce!
