Wow, to think that another year is almost over, and so many events for next year are already scheduled is amazing. It’s only October yet everyone seems to be excited about setting their date to host an event and making sure to ink in the dates for other chamber events.

If you want to get out your 2012 calendar and start filling in dates, let’s start with After Hours Business Mixers, Expos and evening events. TDP Wireless is hosting the January mixer and LeLoLi Espresso Bar & Café are February hosts. The 2nd Annual Business Expo is being held at the Milford Senior Center in March and Miss Q’s Bar & Billiards are hosting the April After Hours Business Mixer.

Next May the Chamber Ambassadors and Board of Directors are hosting a Member Appreciation Mixer at the Milford Public Library. In June, Good News Natural Health Food Store will be hosting the mixer. Currently July is open & we’re working on something big for August. In September the mixer will be held at Reading Assist and First Class Properties is the location for the October Mixer. In November the 6th Annual Holiday Auction & Tastes of Milford will take place and members will be stuffing stockings again at the Annual Holiday Stocking Stuffer at the Heritage at Milford.

The 2012 Power Breakfast (held at the Delaware Hospice Center) Calendar includes The Dover Federal Credit Union in January, a multi-member health Fair in February, “How to Get the Most out of Your Membership”, hosted by the CCGM Ambassadors in March, Power Networking in April, Communities in Schools in May and June is New Member Orientation. Currently July, August and September are open, however after the Power Networking Breakfast yesterday two members say they are interested in being hosts. The October breakfast is focused on Power Networking, Hospice Awareness Month is November, so Delaware Hospice Center are November hosts and New Member Orientation will be held in December. The second Annual Awards Dinner will be held in April, the Annual Chili Cook-Off is set for March and the 19th Annual Golf Classic will be in May.

There are major changes for the Riverwalk “Freedom” Festival. The 3rd Annual “Smile for Freedom” 5K will take place Thursday September 6th. The Friday Park Party is going to be a huge party in 2012. The food vendors will be set-up ready to serve late afternoon and dinner time, just in time for a live local band (not confirmed yet) to perform on the stage in Bi-Centennial Park. There will be great food, music, dancing and fireworks. Yes, the fireworks are being moved from Saturday to Friday next year. Then on Saturday the vendors will be ready by 9:00 am, along with the Bike Show, Car Show, Antique Tractor Show, Kids Korner and more. The committee is working on a few new things for the RWFF and updates will be provided upon confirmation.

The chamber is working on a few brand new events for next year, and once they are finalized information will be available at the chamber, on the website and on facebook.
