Abbott’s Grill kicked off their first Jazz Dinner Series with an Evening of Song with Gaynell Rose on Saturday, November 19, 2011. Inspired by the Supper Clubs of the 1940’s and 50’s, the event was about great music in an intimate setting, combined with an elegant 3-course dinner.

The first performer in the Dinner Series, Gaynell Rose, is an accomplished performer who’s style has been described as “high powered jazz and soulful rhythm and blues.”  Her set list included favorites from Nina Simone, Frank Sinatra, Etta James and Smokey Robinson.

Owner Kevin Reading and the award-winning chefs at Abbott’s Grill were excited to bring this new level of entertainment to the region and enjoyed much success on Saturday with a sold out event.

“The evening exceeded my expectations, both the musical performance and the attendance,” commented Kevin Reading, owner of Abbott’s Grill. “This is a must-attend event as we move forward with more of these performances in the next several months.”

This event was held in Abbott’s private dining room with small tables gathered around one stage. The evening began with a reception and hors d’oeuvres, followed by two sets of music during which dinner and dessert were served. Future Jazz Dinner Series performances can be found by visiting www.abbottsgrillde.com.
