Jr. Pee Wee Football Rolls to Henlopen Conference Title

“The 2011 Henlopen Conference Football Champs, Milford Jr. Pee Wee Football.” The Henlopen Pop Warner Conference includes all 3 Counties in Delaware as well as Worchester, Wicomico, and Somerset Counties in Maryland.

This past Saturday, the Milford Pop Warner Jr. Pee Wee Football team continued its’ dominating ways by beating the Harrington Huskies 25-0 to take home the Henlopen Conference tournament title. It was the Lil’ Bucs 7th shutout of the Season which saw its’ stingy defense only give up 51 points through 11 games. The Bucs high powered running attack pushed its’ season point total to 263.

“We have a simple philosophy and simple goals at this level of football,” states Head Coach Dan Kimmel. “ We establish the run, play dominating defense, and keep turnovers to a minimum.” “We did a fine job in all three areas, I’m very proud of the team.” Kimmel added, “the goals for the team were to have a shut out, have a game with out penalties, and have a game without turnovers. The ultimate Goal was to win the Championship!” The Bucs lost 9-0 in the Championship game last year. “To complete our goals feels great, and when you consider these kids are just 10,11, and 12, it’s even more special. “

“This is a great win and a great year for our program,” exclaimed the Head Coach. “I’m Happy for the players, our committed and encouraging Coaching Staff, our Cheerleaders who continued to show up and Cheer for us throughout the playoffs, and the parents who gave so much of their time and support.”
