Leo Club Delivers Thanksgiving Food Baskets

The Lions youth organization, the Leo’s, delivered 26 food baskets for Thanksgiving.  The Leo’s, Honor Society, Student Counsel and Key club held a food drive at the high school.  They asked the students to bring can goods and nonperishable items to be used to make up Thanksgiving food baskets.  The drive was very successful.  They collected enough can goods and nonperishable items to make 26 food baskets.  The Leo’s had several fundraisers, and made enough money that allowed them to purchase the turkeys for each of the 26 baskets.  The Honor Society, Student Counsel and Key clubs purchased dinner rolls, stuffing mix and pies, to complete the Thanksgiving dinner baskets.  Each food basket contained the items needed to make a nice Thanksgiving dinner and enough can goods to last for several days.

The Clubs met after school Monday and divided the collected food items, and delivered the 26 food baskets to needy families in the Milford community, just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.
