Bayhealth Caregivers Earn 2011 Spirit of Planetree Award

Six Bayhealth Medical Center caregivers have earned the 2011 Spirit of Planetree Award.  Bayhealth recognized its winners during special ceremonies on November 28 at Kent General Hospital and on November 29 at Milford Memorial Hospital.

Planetree is a non-profit organization that has been a pioneer in innovative patient-centered care for more than 30 years.  The Planetree Model is committed to enhancing health care from the patient’s perspective, empowering patients through information and education, and encouraging healing partnerships with caregivers to support more active participation.

“We are immensely proud of our 2011 Spirit of Planetree Award winners who have epitomized our model of patient-centered care here at Bayhealth Medical Center,” said Senior Vice President and Chief Nurse Executive Bonnie Perratto, MSN, MBA, RN, NEA-BC, FACHE.

The 2011 Spirit of Planetree Award winners include Bayhealth Orthopaedic Surgeon Glen Rowe, MD, Purchasing Assistant Mike O’Donnell, Pet Therapy Volunteer Nancy Dunn and therapy dog Angel, Pet Therapy Volunteer Sonny Vuono and therapy dog Belle, Day Surgery Nurse Lee Ann Damask, RN, and Radiologist Corazon Bahia, MD.
