For the Latte base for the Holiday drink:
1 cup of milk steamed
1 tablespoon of white sugar
1 tablespoon of gingerbread syrup (use recipe below)
Ground cloves for sprinkling on top
Your favorite coffee from LeLoLi Café & Espresso Bar
Prepare hot water in a kettle; add four tablespoons of your favorite coffee grounds from LeLoLi into a filter. Pour 1 cup of hot water over the grounds into your cup and allow steeping for about four minutes while you prepare other ingredients.
In a pot, heat up one cup of milk until it is steaming. Froth the milk with a wire whisk but this is not necessary if you don’t want the foamed milk effect.
In your coffee cup add the gingerbread syrup and top with the white sugar and your coffee then mix and enjoy!
The recipe for the gingerbread syrup can be used as a gift for your loved ones or to have around the house to pour over things like apple pie or your favorite coffee beverage like this Gingerbread Homemade Latte:
Homemade Gingerbread Syrup:
½ cup of molasses
¼ cup of brown sugar
½ teaspoon of baking soda
1 teaspoon of ground ginger
¾ a teaspoon of ground cinnamon
In a jar mix together your molasses, brown sugar, baking soda, ground ginger and ground cinnamon until well incorporated. You can store this mixture in a jar in the refrigerator for two to three weeks.
Everything is meant to be changed according to your taste buds so try it out like this but then try it however you want in case you like cinnamon more or maybe you’re a person who loves the flavor of ginger, so add a little more ginger into the recipe!
