First State Manufacturing recognized on ION Network

During the month of January Milford’s own First State Manufacturing will be recognized as one of the World’s Greatest by ION Network television channel. Last November the ION Network sent a film crew to capture some of the exciting things going on at First State manufacturing during their First State Moves the Nation Accelerator event, held at their newly designed facility.

The First State Moves the Nation Accelerator event celebrated manufacturing and its renewed alliance in the state of Delaware with an unveiling of the First State Moves the Nation Small Business Accelerator, presentation of the Downstate Junior Achievement Campus and the first annual Forklift Road-EO.
“We were honored to even be asked, let alone chosen,” commented Sher Valenzuela, Vice President of First State Manufacturing.  “I think it represents how far you can go as a business when you surround yourself with great people in a great city like Milford.  Truly, when the sky’s the limit, how much more exciting can it get?”

On the site of the newly designed First State Manufacturing building Sher and Eli Valenzuela have plans to transform the manufacturing industry in Delaware and across the nation through the Small Business Accelerator. The Accelerator program aims to provide a trained and skilled workforce ready to fill the needs of the manufacturing industry in Delaware, an infrastructure that provides manufacturers business resources to support their needs and a hub of innovation that fuels creativity and new product development.

A public/private partnership between the Delaware Workforce Investment Board (DOL), The City of Milford, and First State Manufacturing Inc. developed an innovative method for job creation in the First State, the First State Moves the Nation Accelerator Portal. The portal will act as a centralized access point for resources committed to promoting the manufacturing community. The web-based portal will connect businesses to jobseekers, individuals to advanced manufacturing skills development training and businesses to taxpayer-funded small business resources.

In January the First State Moves the Nation Accelerator will be revealed worldwide on the ION Network. Episode 156 featuring First State Manufacturing will be airing on the ION Network on January 16 at 6:30AM; January 23 at 7:30AM; and January 30 at 11:00AM. If you are a customer of DirecTV, ION Network can be found on Channel 305; Dish Network, Channel 216.
