Bayhealth Medical Center

One of central Delaware’s largest employers is giving the First State an economic shot in the arm.

Bayhealth Medical Center will soon be adding new full-time and part-time positions for Emergency Department nurses. Bayhealth’s newly created professional positions come at a time when many other employers have cut jobs or implemented hiring freezes in response to a sputtering economy.

“We’re hiring the best Emergency Department nurses because our patients deserve the best. By expanding our E.D. staff, we also hope to reduce waiting times even further,” said Emergency Department Director Patricia Fuller, MBA, MEd, RN, CEN, NE-BC.

According to Fuller, the Bayhealth Emergency Department will host a nursing recruitment Open House in the newly expanded Emergency Department at Bayhealth – Kent General Hospital. Applicants must have one year of emergency nursing experience, a bachelor’s degree in nursing, and be certified for Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Nurses who are certified in Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC) are preferred.

Bayhealth Medical Center provides a competitive salary, compensation package including tuition reimbursement, 401k retirement plan, and health and dental benefits. Bayhealth offers a Shared Rewards Program in which employees receive an annual monetary bonus based on patient satisfaction scores and Bayhealth’s Net Operating Margin. Bayhealth also offers a rewarding work environment and supports professional development for its employees.

The Open House for the Bayhealth Emergency Department will be held in the new Kent General Hospital Emergency Department, 640 South State Street, Dover from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1, and again from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 2.
