“10 of the Best” Awards Dinner set for April 19th

By CCGM Executive Director Jo Schmeiser

Awards Dinner Chairperson Lorna Petchy, along with committee members Fred Rohm, Mike Kazala, David Rutt, Angela Dorey and Donna Stalvey are working hard to make this year’s event even better than the first “10 of the Best” Awards Dinner last year.
The event will be held at the Milford Senior Center Thursday April 19th from 5:30 until around 9:00 p.m.

There are 10 award categories including the Board Member of the year, Chairperson of the year, Chamber Volunteer of the year, Chamber Youth Volunteer of the year, Non-profit Organization of the Year, Small Business of the year, Large Business of the year, New Member of the year, Citizen of the year and a President’s Choice award.
The CCGM Board of Directors will vote on the Board Member, Chairperson and both of the Volunteer of the year awards.

The chamber general membership will have the opportunity to nominate the Non-profit Organization, Large Business, Small Business, New Member and Citizen of the year awards, and will also be voting in each of those categories. CCGM President Fred Rohm will be choosing one lucky person to receive the President’s Choice Award.

Last year chamber members made several nominations and offered wonderful reasons (other than meeting the criteria) why their nomination should be considered in that particular category. Chairperson Lorna Petchy says she hopes even more nominations come in this year, and that she can’t wait to see who’s nominated and who takes home the award.

In my opinion, one of toughest winners to choose is the New Member of the year. There are over 40 businesses that qualify for the award this year including large businesses, small businesses and home based businesses. All are so unique and so deserving.
The committee is still working on a guest speaker, and look forward to booking someone really good at entertaining large groups of people.

Like last year a “10 of the Best” Raffle will be held, and unlike last year where there was only one winner, this year there will be ten winners. Raffle Coordinators Donna Stalvey and Angela Dorey said that last year after only one person won over $1400.00 worth of donated items (everything from a limousine ride to gift cards), that many people suggested splitting up the ten items and allowing nine more people to go home with something awesome.
The CCGM invites members and non-members to attend the dinner, allowing everyone an opportunity to see how dedicated members are to the chamber and how deserving these individuals and businesses are.

Tickets are $35.00 for CCGM Members and $40.00 for non-members.
Sponsorships are available from $50.00 Friend of the Chamber up to $1000.00 Dinner Sponsorship.

Table Sponsorships are available for $500.00 and include a reserved table, six event tickets in addition to marketing opportunities.
