The Greater Milford Boys & Girls Club will be hosting their annual Bowl-A-Thon on Friday March 16 at the Milford Bowling Lanes. This year, participants will have the opportunity to bowl unlimited games from 6pm-11pm, bid on a large selection of silent auction items and will even have  a chance to win $25,000, just for the minimal entry fee of $25.

The Bowl-A-Thon will generate funds secured by each bowler and various sponsors that will benefit the local Boys & Girls Club in Milford. All bowlers are encouraged to raise additional money as the Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware will donate the Milford Club an additional 50% on every dollar pledged. Participants that raise $50 or more will receive a Bowl-A-Thon tee shirt.

“I am very impressed by the level of commitment our Board of Directors and staff have placed on this year’s event,” commented Dorian Mendez-Vaz, Executive Director of the Greater Milford Boys and Girls Club. “We have had so much fun planing the event and look forward to having such a great evening with the community.”

The evening will be full of surprises as the Boys & Girls Club staff introduce mini-competitions during the event. For an additional $5 donation bowlers will be entered into the red pin contest which will allow participants to win several prizes by throwing a strike when the head pin comes up red. All bowlers will also be automatically entered into a drawing to participate in the 7/10 split contest. Each hour one bowler will be chosen to take their best shot at a 7/10 split and will win $25,0000 if successful.

“This year should be a lot of fun,” commented event organizer and member of the Boys & Girls Club Board of Directors Mark McDaniel. “We are expecting a larger number of bowlers and have collected some really nice items for the silent auction and red pin contest.”

To secure a ticket, bowlers can register as individuals or as teams of six bowlers. Businesses and individuals can also support the event be becoming a lane, team or event sponsor. Each level will include unique perks from sponsorship signage over the lanes to special recognition on the official Bowl-A-Thon tee shirt.

Proceeds from the event will be used to enhance and expand the educational, athletic and character building programs offered to club members. Individuals can donate to bowlers, create a team or donate to the cause by downloading official B&G Club Bowl-A-Thon forms at  https://new.delawarelive.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/12/2012/02/BowlaThonForms.pdf. For further information on how to register, sponsor or donate to the Bowl-A-Thon event contact Margaux Azzanesi at the Greater Milford Boys & Girls Club at 302-422-4453 or by email at Mazzanesi@bgclubs.org.
