The Lions Den

By Dick Andrews

The Lions Club youth organization, the Milford High School Leo’s, was our guest at our February 9, 2012 dinner meeting. The Leo’s receives guidance from the Leo Adviser, Lion Jack Simon and his committee. The Leo president, Ms. Bree Wilkins, introduced the club officers and the members that attended.

She said they had several fundraisers, and the money is used on various projects to help needy people in our community. Leo Bree said for Thanksgiving, the Leo’s and several other Milford High School clubs collected can goods, purchased pies, turkeys, potatoes and other staples to make up 25 food boxes, which they delivered to people in the Milford area just in time for Thanksgiving. They helped server dinner at the annual Christmas party for the visually impaired, at Camden Fire Hall. They collected toys for the Toys for Tots program. They participated in ringing the bell for the Salvation Army at Wal-Mart. They are help serve and wait tables at our annual Spaghetti dinner on March 3rd form 4 to 7 pm.

The Milford Lions Club is very proud of this group of young people. They are doing an outstanding job, and have made a different in many people’s lives in our community. The Milford High School Leo’s are living up to their motto “We Serve”.
