Police Seek Public Assistance in Shooting

On Friday, April 13 officers from the Milford Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to the 200 block of South East 2nd Street (Sussex County) to a report of shots fired.  Upon arrival officers contacted the victim, a 29 year old male from Milford, who advised officers Ronnier Elmore, 19 years old of Dover, fired an unknown long gun type weapon towards him.  The shot from the weapon nearly missed the victim, at which point Mr. Elmore struck the victim with the weapon, causing a laceration to his head.  The victim was also assaulted by two unknown black males, who police are continuing to investigate to learn their identities.  The victim was treated on the scene by Carlisle Fire Company personnel for non life threatening injuries.  Warrants have been obtained through JP Court #3 for Mr. Elmore for Assault 2nd Degree, Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon, Possession of a Deadly weapon by Person Prohibited, Reckless Endangering 2nd Degree, four counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and two counts of Harassment.  Milford Police urge anyone with information about this incident or the whereabouts of Mr. Elmore to contact 302-422-8081 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.  Tips can also be provided via the internet at www.tipsubmit.com.
