Girls Are Gonna Have Fun for a Good Cause

By CCGM Ex. Director Jo Schmeiser

It hard to believe this Friday May 4th is the first ever Girls Night Out at the Carlisle Fire Hall in Milford. A few of our members mentioned having the event a while ago, and when we asked other members what they thought, they agreed. The planning came together quickly and the response has been wonderful.

This event wouldn’t be happening if it weren’t for the Corporate Sponsorship from the Sussex County Federal Credit Union. Business Development Manager, Deb Jewell, says the SCFCU is always happy to support a good cause, and in this case, two great causes.
The beneficiaries are the CCGM and the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition. Deb says although the purpose of the event is for girls to have a fun night out, it is also meant to bring awareness to breast cancer, and the importance of screening.
Each attendee will receive a goodie bag filled with stuff from the Sussex County Federal Credit Union, the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, Blooming Boutique and Bayhealth Medical Center.

The gals from the DBC will be there selling girly items, along with Avon, Thirty-one Bags, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Delaware 302, Guided Metamorphosis, DoTerra Essential Oils, Premier Designs Jewelry. Kent & Sussex County Women will be there handing out copies of their magazine, while the Heritage at Milford will be handing out yummy cupcakes. Abbott’s Grill and Walmart will also be offering tasty treats for attendees to enjoy. Wawa donated non-alcoholic beverages and there will also be a cash bar available for those girls that would like to enjoy a cocktail.

Circle That Date Event Planners are bringing all kinds of goodies including lots of props for the Photo Booth. The photos will be complimentary and a wonderful keepsake from this first time event. There will be fashion displays throughout the evening with models Luanne Holland, Kim Wilkins, Cindy Canaveri, Steph Norris, Ty Bailey, Amanda Parisi and Alicia Hollis wearing beautiful clothing and accessories from the Blooming Boutique and eyewear from Halpern Eye Care. Models Jordana Naftzinger and Joe Ewing will be wearing formal wear provided by Amore’ Bridal.

All the vendors are bringing door prizes, and since the event runs from 4 to 8 p.m., if you can’t stay the entire time and your name is drawn you still win. We’ll call and make arrangements to get you your prize. Eagle 97.7 D.J. Petch will be there entertaining the girls and Eagle 97.7 D.J. Paula will be the fashion displays MC.

The tickets are $20.00 in advance, and $25.00 at the door. There are also raffle tickets (you don’t need to be present to win) for a Girls Weekend Getaway to the Atlantic Sands Hotel on the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk, massages, sunglasses from Halpern Eye, gift cards and more. The value is over $700.00 and the raffle tickets are only $20.00 each.
