Kent County Honors Band 2012 Travis Timmy Alison Cody Samantha Lucas

Seven members of the Milford Community Band earned a spot in various 2012 All State and County Honor Bands. Timmy Bain, percussion, is a senior at Caesar Rodney High School. Alison Van Vorst, French horn, is a sophomore at Milford High School. Lucas Shurman, trumpet, is a sophomore at Lake Forest High School. Samantha Fellner, bass clarinet, is a senior at St. Thomas More Preparatory Academy. Travis Japinoski, trumpet, is a senior at Milford High School. Cody Scott, tuba, is a senior at Milford High School. Sammy Seibert, percussion, is a freshman at Sussex Tech.

Selection for the All State Band and the All State Orchestra are made by auditions managed by the Delaware Music Educators Association (DMEA). The DMEA then provides rehearsals and the subsequent formal performance in March of each year.

Selections for the County Honors Bans(s) are made by recommendations of the music directors at each of the respective schools. The Kent County/Sussex County Music Educators Association(s) (KCMEA & SCMEAS) then provide for necessary rehearsals for the late March performance.

The Milford Community Band is very proud that these young musicians, who are MCB members, were chosen to perform in the respective music ensembles.
