Graduation Celebrates Class of 2012

On Thursday, May 24 the Milford Senior High School class of 2012 proudly stood on the field at Briggs Stadium to celebrate the culmination of their twelve years of hard work and dedication. The stadium was filled with family and friends supporting the accomplishments as the graduates took their first glance at their futures. Some students will choose college, some will join the work force and some will choose to serve our country by joining the military but all have moved one step closer to fulfilling their destiny.

Valedictorian Lauren Mentzer spoke to the class of 2012 urging them to remember all of the influential people in their lives and the import role they have played in their lives.

“The grass is not in fact always greener on the other side,” commented Ms. Mentzer referring to the traditional adage. “The fact is that the grass is greener where it has been watered. Each of us is here tonight because of someone that has nurtured us.”

Lauren Mentzer also received the Donald Lee Gibson Instrumental Musical Award, and the Milford High School Foreign Language Award.

Salutatorian Stephanie Clendaniel spoke to her classmates about their future and the endless opportunities that present themselves to each individuals.

“What is amazing is that our journey has just begun,” commented Ms. Clendaniel. “The doors have now opened to so many different possibilities.”
