Promoting Our Local Assets

Staff Report

State Rep. Harvey Kenton, R-Milford, and State Sen. Gary Simpson, R-Milford, were among the dozens of officials on hand for the launching of the Delaware Bayshore Initiative in Slaughter Beach on May 29th. The initiative will focus on developing the educational, recreational and conservation aspects of Delaware’s bay coastline, which extends from Dragon Run Creek in New Castle County, south to the City of Lewes. Supporters believe enhancing and promoting these natural resources could increase eco-tourism in the region, improve the economies of small coastal communities and produce additional jobs.
