Downtown Milford Inc.’s 2nd annual Movies and Music on the Riverwalk returns to the Library Amphitheater on Wednesday June 20. A huge success with locals last year, averaging over 100 attendees each night, Downtown Milford hopes to encourage more families to visit the downtown area for a night of fun, food and entertainment.

The eight-week series will feature outdoor movies and live entertainment throughout the summer set on the banks of the Mispilion River. Movies will be played on a large inflatable movie screen for all to enjoy as food is available by The Friends of the LIbrary organization. Movies this summer will include The Muppets, Grease, The Little Rascals and The Land Before Time.

“The movies are a great chance to get together outside with the family and enjoy an evening on the Riverfront and the downtown area,” commented DMI Promotions Committee Chair Marilyn Ambrose.

Music on the Riverfront will welcome back Live entertainment from Sean Reilly, The Joe Baiore Trio and The Smooth Sound Dance Band. Sean Reilly, a native of Wilmington, DE will perform Sinatra-era music and is known for his smooth voice. Joe Baione will have his chance to excite the Milford community as he performs a mixture of straight ahead, Latin and African jazz. For the final performance, The Smooth Sound Dance Band, a group of 18 local musicians, will play music of the 30’s, 40‘s and 50’s.

“The live music events are a lot of fun and we encourage the community to come out to enjoy and be exposed to these talented artists,” commented Ms. Ambrose.

Proceeds from the Movies and Music events on the Riverwalk will benefit Downtown Milford Inc. in their mission to beautify and enhance the quality of the downtown Milford area.
