Combined Business Mixer Draws Large Crowd

By CCGM Executive Director Jo Schmeiser

At least once a year the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Milford (CCGM) schedules a combined after hours business mixer with one of the adjoining chambers. In the past the CCGM has partnered with the Milton Chamber, the Georgetown Chamber and the Central Delaware Chamber.

This year the August Combined Business Mixer was hosted by i.g. Burton Chevrolet on Route 1, North Milford. This wasn’t the first combined mixer i.g. Burton has hosted, and after the huge turn-out and the great time everyone had at the August 29th mixer, they’re interested in hosting one again in 2013.

The exact number of attendees is unsure, however Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce (CDCC) President Judy Diogo and I estimated at least about 175 people were in the beautiful Chevrolet Showroom. Guests from both chambers enjoyed music by D.J. Alex Vaughn, a wonderful array of food catered by Abbott’s Grill and one of the best networking opportunities available so far this year.

I.G. Burton President Charles Burton says he was very happy with the turn-out, and says it’s always good business practice to bring people into your organization so they can learn about the goods and services the business offers, as well as an opportunity to meet his staff. Charlie’s wife Marie, son Alphonse, daughter Elena and parents David and Anne Burton were also in attendance.

As I networked and took several photos, it was nice to see members from the CDCC meeting people from the CCGM, collecting business cards and learning about each other’s organization. The feedback I’ve received has been wonderful. Many members say they met several new potential customers while learning more about the many facets of I.G.Burton & Company, Inc.
