Abbott’s Introduces Sports Betting

On Wednesday, September 5 Abbott’s Grill in Milford introduced sports betting as part of their larger initiative to increase the sports experience in their pub. One of 31 businesses selected from around the state of Delaware to participate in the new expansion of sports betting, Abbott’s Grill will be offering complete entertainment for football fans including increased visibility for every game played throughout the week, classic tailgate specials featuring unique beer and food and the ability to wager on games.

In 2009 Governor Jack Markell signed legislation allowing sports betting in the state of Delaware, making Delaware become one of only four states in the nation to have sports betting laws in place after the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992. Just last month sports betting was expanded beyond casinos in Delaware to include 31 restaurants, pubs and nightclubs.

The first game to be featured at Abbott’s under the new expansion was the Dallas Cowboys at the New York Giants on Wednesday, September 5. Fans at Abbott’s were greeted with a new tailgate menu. The 17 flat screen televisions and large pull down projection screen added to the fall football atmosphere.

“We are creating something unique here at Abbott’s Grill where football fans can enjoy games Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays,” commented owner of Abbott’s Grill Kevin Reading. “We are offering the complete football experience by providing our customers with more games, great food and tailgate specials.”

Those interested in sports betting can participate in the Pro Football Parlay Card Wagering. A parlay is a single wager that is linked to multiple wagers to win a bet. Parlay players can play several different cards including the Early Bird Card, Half-Point Parlay Card, Teaser Card, Super Teaser Card, Reverse Teaser Card and $100,000 Parlay Card. Information regarding each card and how they are played can be found on the Delaware Lotterry website at www.delottery.com.
