Israeli Soldier Addresses Local Groups

l-r: Sgt. Benjamin Anthony admires the flack vest sewn by First State Manufacturing while Kevin Wade, owner of Philadelphia Control Systems, Inc, Sher Valenzuela, vice-president First State Manufacturing and Eli Valenzuela, president of First State Manufacturing watch.

Staff Report

Eli and Sher Valenzuela, president and vice-president of First State Manufacturing, were proud to present four deflection vests to Sgt. Benjamin Anthony of the Israeli army after he toured their facility in Milford on September 11.

Anthony was in Delaware to promote and share the vision of the non-profit he founded, “Our Soldiers Speak,” an organization started to convene seminars and information sessions pertaining to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Since its founding in 2006, the soldiers program has brought fact-based insight into some of Israel’s most recent conflicts and military campaigns – both within and beyond Israel’s borders.

Anthony visited First State Manufacturing after he learned of the work the company did sewing deflection vests (vests designed to deflect bullets from the wearer’s body) and other paraphernalia for the Israeli defenses. He said the equipment he saw at FSM was “far superior” to what he had seen before. First State Manufacturing is an industrial sewing company that manufactures products for commercial and military use.
