The Rookery North at Shawnee, golf course and clubhouse, in Milford will be introducing their new dinner menu as they host their monthly 2nd Friday Night Dinners starting on Friday, October 12. Formerly the Shawnee Country Club, The Rookery North at Shawnee is now open to the public as they expand the restaurant to include a new dinner menu created by Chef Glenda Adkins herself.

Chef Glenda Adkins has been in the restaurant and catering business for twelve years.  Glenda studied culinary art in California under Chef Karsten Hart at the Château de Sureau and now prepares each course with precision and perfect execution. From 2007 to 2011 Glenda and husband Chris owned and operated Blue Restaurant on Rehoboth Avenue in Rehoboth, Delaware, serving fresh seafood and unique, fun libations.

“We hope to create a new dining experience for the Milford community,” commented Chef Adkins. “Our menu will feature a lot of fresh, local seafood and unique entrees that cannot be found in this area.”

Featured on the new dinner menu will be fresh seafood including grilled salmon and halibut, snow crab, shrimp and local scallops. Appetizers such as stuffed imperial mushrooms and brie, apple and honey crostinis will kick off the evening as entrees such as prime rib and scallop pumpkin ravioli will prepare diners for homemade desserts.

On Friday, October 12 The Rookery North at Shawnee 2nd Friday Night Dinners will also feature live entertainment by Captain Mike performing classic rock and roll hits from 5 to 7pm. There will also be Happy Hour specials and give-aways during the live entertainment.

“It is going to be a fun evening and allow us to see what the Milford community wants from a local restaurant,” commented Chef Glenda. “We want to build something that Milford can be proud of.”

The 2nd Friday Night Dinners at the Rookery North at Shawnee will be held on Friday, October 12, November 9 and December 14. Reservations can be made by calling 302-422-9745. For further details about the course, pool or tennis memberships individuals can call either Rookery facility at 302-422-9745 in Milford or 302-684-3000 in Milton.
