State Rep. Jack Peterman (R-Milford) joined other area officials at the Carlisle Fire Company on October 7th to honor Drew and Stephen Fox as they were officially inducted as Eagle Scouts.

To earn the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America a candidate must be active in his troop; demonstrate he lives by the principles of the Scout Oath; and earn a total of 21 merit badges. Twelve of those badges must be in specific disciplines including first aid, personal fitness, and environmental science. A candidate must also carry out a community service project and be evaluated by a board of review before his 18th birthday.

Since the rank was first awarded in 1912, only about four percent of those participating in scouting have achieved it.
