Student Government Makes Donations at Senior Night

By Kevin Eickman

There are a great many things to like about the Milford community, one of the most enjoyable aspects is the spirit of giving that we have. On Milford football senior night, that spirit was on full display as Milford student government gave two rather sizable donations, to very deserving causes.

Between the end of the first quarter, and the start of the second Karen Gritton of The American Heart association was presented with a check for $1,000 on behalf of Milford. The well known organization battles heart disease throughout the country. In addition Starla Plummer and her sister Selena Fry where given a donation of $1,500 for The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition. Plummer who is a breast cancer survivor, was thrilled with the donation “This is a valuable contribution in the fight against the deadly disease.”

Catching up with Milford principal Dr. David Carter, it was easy to see the pride he had for his students “This speaks volumes about the type of students we have here at Milford, you always want to give back to the community and support great causes.” he added “I am so proud to be a part of a school that has students that stand out in such a manner.”
