Incumbents Peterman, Wilson Reelected

On Election Day, Tuesday November 6, 2012 the Milford area returned two legislators to office as incumbent Republican Jack Peterman defeated Democrat Kevin Robbins in the race for the 33rd District Representative seat and incumbent Republican Sam Wilson defeated Democrat Gary Wolfe in the Sussex County District #2 seat.

Jack Peterman defeated his opponent by a margin of 53.4% to 46.6% (4825 to 4207 total votes).  Mr. Peterman will continue his second term as 33rd District State Representative, after defeating Robert Walls in 2010.  Jack has served his community before as Kent County Levy Court Commissioner for the 4th District and devoted his time as past president of the Frederica Lions Club and Past Chairman of Kent County Ag Land Preservation Foundation. Representative Peterman is currently a member of the Agriculture, Natural Resources, Economic Development, Housing and Community Affairs, Revenue and Finance and Veteran’s Affairs Committees.

Incumbent Sam Wilson defeated Democratic candidate Gary Wolfe for the Sussex County District #2 seat by a margin of 58.1% to 39.4% (7821 to 5299 total votes). In the Republican primary held in September for the seat Sam Wilson defeated challenger John Christensen 1676 votes (74.2%) to 583 (25.8%) votes. As a lifelong resident of District #2 in Sussex County, Sam Wilson prides himself on “helping keep Sussex County taxes low through hard economic times” and wants to continue “creating an environment so that businesses can create more jobs.”

Both men will take office in January 2013. Peterman will become part of the 147th General Assembly and serve the state of Delaware for 2 more years. Sam Wilson will return to serve Sussex County Council for the next 4 years.
