World-renowned magician Will Fern at the 2012 Milford Magic Monday performance.

Downtown Milford Inc. (DMI), in partnership with Dickens Parlour Theatre, will once again host three magical events throughout the months of January, February and March, 2013. Next year’s Milford Magic Mondays will debut on January 21 at the Milford Senior Center and feature world-renowned magicians Chris Caprhart, Jon Stetson and Rich Bloch.

President of DMI, Irv Ambrose, first developed the idea for Milford Magic Mondays when he saw his first performance of Rich Bloch at the Dickens Parlour Theatre in Millville, Delaware. Impressed with the professionalism and excitement of the theatre Irv and his wife Marilyn returned to see the show 15 times in just 11 months.

“We saw our first show at the Dickens Theatre on New Years Eve and we were astounded,” commented Mr. Ambrose. “It is not the usual ‘pull a rabbit out of a hat’ tricks, the show is a very high class performance. Once you see it you will want to see it again.”
On Monday, January 21 Chris Caprhart will kick off the first of three Magic Monday performances. Capehart possesses the ability of superior sleight-of hand and his skills at close-up magic are no less astonishing. His signature effects are “The Miser’s Dream,” and “The 3 Ring Routine,” which is one of the cornerstones of magical illusions and has earned him the title “The Ring Master.”

During the second performance, audience members will be introduced to “America’s Master Mentalist” Jon Stetson. Jon observes people’s patterns and steps inside their heads to read their minds. Over the past 30 Years President Bush, President Carter, The King of Sweden, The Royal Family of Monaco, Donald Trump, Bob Kraft & The New England Patriots and numerous celebrity audiences have experienced Jon Stetson worldwide.

The final performance will be hosted by Rich Bloch, owner of the Dickens Parlour Theatre. Rich has entertained audiences across the globe including Las Vegas, Atlantic City and Washington D.C. His accolades include two-time recipient of the Blackstone Award from the International Platform Association, six-time nominee of Stage Magician of the Year award and 2006 Fellowship recipient at Hollywood’s Magic Castle.

“We had such a fantastic turnout last year and we have had a great response from people asking us to bring Magic Mondays back,” commented Mr. Amborse. “It is great entertainment and it also gets people to visit downtown Milford. We hope that people will come downtown before the show to shop, eat dinner and experience Milford.”

The doors open for each event at 6:30 with a cash bar and mingling. Shows start at 7:00 promptly and there will be refreshments for purchase following the first show. In addition, the magicians will be mingling as well as preforming table side magic work for a continued personalized magical experience.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children. They are available at the Milford Senior Center, the Downtown Milford office or by calling 302-839-1180. Tickets may also be purchased online at: www.downtownmilford.org under the ‘Milford Magic Mondays’ tab.
