Showing his talent on and off the basketball court, Milford High School junior Octavion “O.T.” Wilson steals this week’s Athlete of the Week honors. Fresh off football season where he was one of the team’s top offensive players, he now stands as one of the top defensive players on the court for the Buccaneers.

“O.T. plays hard and plays up to his potential,” said MHS senior guard Jalen Stevens.

Wilson’s work ethic has not gone unnoticed as a couple of colleges have shown interest in recruiting him to play football and he has already met with the coach at the University of Delaware where he hopes to attend.

Wilson would like to major in engineering which requires academic skill, something he also displays. His discipline and work ethic in the classroom have helped him in Honors Chemistry and Physics this year, while he plans to take the AP level courses next school year.

“Octavion is one of the most focused students I’ve ever seen,” said MHS business teacher Justice Roberts. “He works hard in class as well as on the court.”

MHS head coach B.J Joseph added, “OT is a great student, great person and has played great defense.”

Wilson will step on the court December 28 at 3 p.m. with the rest of the Buccaneer squad to compete in the annual Wicomico Civic Center Governor’s Challenge in Salisbury, Md.
