Southbound Lane Closures on Route 1

DelDOTRoute 1 and Route 30 Grade Separated Intersection Project Will Require Southbound Lane Closures on Route 1

On Thursday, January 10 Delaware Department of Transportation issued a Traffic alert for Route 1 southbound between Wilkens Road and Johnson Road near Milford. The alert will be in effect 6:30 am until 5 pm on Monday, January 14 through Friday, January 18, pending weather. DelDOT’s contractor, George & Lynch, Inc., will be saw cutting, striping, and placing barrier walls for the Route 1 and Route 30 Grade Separated Intersection Project. Motorists should use caution in this area for shifting of traffic and construction personnel on Route 1 southbound. DelDOT will be posting a variable message sign to alert motorists of the upcoming lane closure. This construction is to prepare the area for an overpass that will connect Wilkins Road and Cedar Neck Road just south of the business 1 exit off Route 1. Construction of the overpass is expected to be completed by summer 2014.
