2nd Annual Girls Night Out

By Jo Schmeiser, Executive Director Greater Milford Chamber of Commerce

The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Milford, is getting ready to host the 2nd Annual Girls Night Out, and there are going to be a lot of exciting changes from last year’s event. Last year the event was held at the Carlisle Fire Hall, and although it was wonderful, the committee voted to move the event to a larger facility this year due to the demand to expand. The Rookery North ,formerly the Shawnee Country Club, is set to be the site for this year’s event, as the fun will not only be held in the banquet rooms but the entire facility will be filled with vendors, seating areas and girls, girls, girls.

Upon your arrival you’ll be greeted by a professional photographer for an opportunity to be photographed with your girlfriends. The bar will be open and will feature a signature drink called the Pink Lemonade Martini, where $1.00 for every cocktail sold will be donated to event beneficiaries, for the second year, The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition.

Another big change this year is the fashion show. This year the fashion show is highlighting the Marvelous Men of Milford. That’s right, local men including George Carroll, Skip Pikus, Pete Renzi, George Schifferer, Wayne Whitney, Tony Favata, Cory Smith, Principal Carter, Coach Tkach, Chas Holden, Bruce Johnston DJ Steve Monz, and Jim Holdridge will be wearing all types of men’s attire they each chose to model. In addition to those mentioned, there will also be a few fun surprise models.

Each Marvelous Man is selling raffle tickets, $5.00 each, for one lucky winner to receive a weekend getaway to Rehoboth Beach at the Atlantic Sands Hotel & Conference Center, plus two sixty minute massages. If you purchase a raffle ticket and cannot attend the event, that’s fine as you don’t have to be present to win.

The men are also selling tickets to the event for $20.00 in advance and $25.00 at the door. During the event the men will be auctioned off for one dance. The man who raises the most money by the end of the event will be awarded the title of Milford’s Most Marvelous Man and will win a bunch of great prizes too. Before and during the fashion DJ Dana McDonald will be entertaining the girls with dance music and lots of games, where participants can compete for awesome prizes. The 2nd Annual Girls Night Out is set for Friday May 3rd from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. For event tickets, raffle tickets or for more information call 422.3344, visit milford@milforchamber.com or check us out on facebook.”
