The garden of Gloria Babel, North Shore Drive, Milford, has been selected for the Milford Garden Club’s Beautification Award for the month of May. Gloria developed her appreciation for gardening and the outdoors from her childhood on her parents farm on the upper peninsula of Michigan. She and her husband moved to Milford to enjoy life on Haven Lake ten years ago.
Since moving in, she has developed flowers beds all around the house and into the front and side yards. She also has some raised beds for her vegetables. Her gardens include hostas, azaleas, silver dollars, peonies, black-eyed-susans, astilbe, liriope, bluebells, ajuga, snow-on-the-mountain, hydrangea, rhododendron, forsythia, lilac, and coral bells.
