Milford Man Charged In Domestic Dispute

On Monday, May 20 the Milford Police Department arrested a 24yo man stemming from an incident that occurred at a residence in the double digit block of Cedar Beach Road on the evening of Saturday, May 18. James K. Lewis, of Harrington, was charged with Attempted Burglary 2nd Degree, Terroristic Threatening, Menacing, Offensive Touching, Disorderly Conduct, Criminal Trespass 2nd Degree and Resisting Arrest.

According to the Milford Police, officers responded to the residence after receiving report that Lewis had been at the residence and was involved in a domestic dispute with the 20yo female victim and then fled. Police state that their investigation revealed that during the dispute Lewis grabbed the female victim by the neck and arm and began dragging her off of the porch and into the yard. The female eventually got away from Lewis and ran back inside the residence and locked the door. Lewis attempted to kick in the door at the residence but was unable to gain entry. Lewis advised the female victim that he was going to leave and then return with a gun.

According to police, the female victim sustained minor injuries but did not receive medical treatment. On Monday, May 20 the Milford Police made contact with Lewis during a traffic stop as Lewis was parking his vehicle in the driveway of the same residence on Cedar Beach Rd. Police had received information that Lewis may be back in the area of the residence again. Milford Police state that Lewis failed to comply with Police orders and after a brief physical struggle with Police, Lewis was taken into custody. Lewis was arraigned and committed to SCI in default of $11,400 secured bond.
