Burgers-N-Beans Celebrates 1 Year

Burgers-N-Beans, located at 907 North Dupont Boulevard in the Airpark Plaza, opened its doors a little over a year ago on April 23rd, 2012. Offering all the amenities of a classic burger joint, highlighted by their Signature 2-Patty Cheeseburger, served with choice of free toppings on a lightly toasted, lightly buttered potato kaiser roll. It simply melts in your mouth. Combine this with a relaxed, clean casual atmosphere, it has quickly become a favorite among locals and travelers alike.  Burgers-N-Beans is not a franchise, but business partners Bruce Johnston and Dwight Belcher used their combined 50 years of experience in the restaurant and service industry to bring the Milford community a place that has the look of a franchise, with the feel and friendliness of a hometown burger restaurant.

During their first year in business, Burgers-N-Beans has received the “New Business Of The Year Award” from the Chamber Of Commerce for Greater Milford and was voted the “Best Burger In Kent County” by First State Favorites Magazine.  It was a banner year for the young company.  Johnston attributes their success by listening to their customers.  “The most important person is the customer.  We value and factor their feedback in every new product we introduce” Johnston stated.  This was proven before they opened their doors, by having the marketing class of Milford High School taste test french fries to finally settle on the delicious Jersey Shore Fries they currently serve.  A veggie burger was also brought in after they opened and taste tested by a panel of local Vegetarians.

“Winning these awards in the first year is very humbling.” Johnston said. He also attributes the success of Burgers-N-Beans to his great staff.  “Without them we wouldn’t have been voted Best Burger In Kent County or have seen our sales grow the way we have. They really care about the customers and quality of the food we serve.” Johnston added. To thank his staff for their services, the crew has enjoyed several team building outings including trips to Six Flags amusement park, Frightland and recently to Speed World in Ocean City.

Burgers-N-Beans is a community minded business and is very committed to giving back.  Since opening, they have been involved with many fundraisers and provided donations to the different schools and organizations throughout the area.  “It is very important to us to give back to the local community” stated Johnston.  “Milford residents have been exceptionally welcoming to us during our first year in business and giving back is one way of thanking them and helping good causes at the same time,” added Johnston.

Continuing into their second year, Burgers-N-Beans is excited to begin expanding as they plan to add an additional location in South Dover and 24-foot food trailer for local festivals and events.  Using the power of social media and the Internet, Burgers-N-Beans will soon be offering online ordering through any computer, tablet, iPhone or Android phone.  “Patrons that order and pay online will be able to skip the line, go to the pick up area and receive their order without a wait.” Johnston stated.  “We also plan on introducing some new specialty burgers and a few other new products, so stay tuned.” Johnston said with a smile.

Burgers-N-Beans is open for lunch and dinner every day of the week serving their award-winning melt in your mouth Burgers, Jersey Shore and Sweet Potato Fries, Barbecue Pulled Pork, Grilled and Crispy Chicken, Chili, Hot Dogs, Bush’s Best Baked Beans, Onion Rings and their delicious Hand Dipped Old Fashioned Milkshakes.  Located in the Airpark Plaza on North DuPont Boulevard, Burgers-N-Beans is a great place to experience classic American cuisine.  Open 7 Days a week from 10am to 9pm, Burgers-N-Beans can be reached online at www.facebook.com/BurgersnBeans or by phone at (302) 725-5140.
