Theft False Pretense Under $1500

On August 28, 2013 the Milford Police arrested and charged a 29yo Wilmington woman stemming from an incident that occurred at a local church on 5/13/13. Sherrie Gibbs was charged with Theft False Pretense Under $1500. Investigation revealed that Gibbs made contact with the church clergy and posed as a landlord. Gibbs provided false information to the clergy to make it appear as though she was in need of rent assistance money for a tenant of hers. Gibbs was provided a check from the church clergy. This was later revealed to be a scam. Gibbs also had an active capias out of Newark Alderman’s Court. Gibbs was arraigned and released on $600 unsecured bond.
