Chamber Enjoys Successful Riverwalk Festival

The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Milford along with Milford Parks and Recreation, hosted this year’s Riverwalk “Freedom” Festival in downtown Milford from Thursday, September 5 to Saturday, September 7. What originally started out to be a one-day event has evolved into a fun-filled, three-day event spanning the entire downtown Milford area from Walnut Street to BiCentennial Park. The events were kicked off this year on Thursday, September 5 with the Annual “Smile for Freedom” 5k Run and 3k Walk. Friday’s activities honored both Veterans and Current Military with the 2nd annual “Operation Giveback” which was set up in Bicentennial Park. That night Milfordians gathered next to the Mispillion River to listen to live entertainment and watch a spectacular fireworks display. On Saturday, September 7, the Riverwalk Freedom Festival in downtown Milford continued the tradition on the original day the Festival began with vendors lining Walnut Street and activities for all ages. New to the festival this year was the “Cheers to Hero’s Scavenger Hunt” which was the final event of the festival, running Saturday night from 5:00 pm to 1:00 am, encouraging individuals to check out Milford’s nightlife.
